Defence and War Medals 1939-45; General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Malaya (3006245 Cpl. A. J. Collarbone R.A.F.); Royal Air Force L.S. & G.C., E.II.R. (W3006245 Sgt. A. J. Collarbone. R.A.F.), mounted as worn very fine (4)

Alfred John Collarbone was born on 23 March 1925 and originally enlisted in August 1943. He appears to have been based at R.A.F. Cosford according to his service record and seemingly left the service at the end of the war.

Collarbone re-enlisted on 16 October 1952 and saw service in Singapore from June 1958 until November 1960, where he worked on Hercules aircraft. He also saw service in Cyprus at R.A.F. Akrotiri from July 1966 to July 1969, and was finally discharged with the rank of Chief Technician on 8 October 1975.
