John Denis Timmons was born in 1926 and enlisted at the tender age of 14 in the Royal Artillery on 6 July 1939. Serving with them throughout the Second World War, and the post war campaign in South-East Asia with the 5th Independent Field Regiment.

He transferred to the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers on 1 October 1951, posted to Korea in December 1952 where he remained for a year before being posted home. After spending time in Hong Kong & Aden he left the army in June 1965, some 25 years of service. He was later employed as a mechanical fitter for the War Officer and died at Amesbury on 3 January 1969.

Sold together with Cased National Service Medal, Warrant Scroll in tube dated 17 September 1962, death certificate and pension form, appreciation letter on leaving the Colours from Major-General L H Atkinson O.B.E. dated 10 August 1965, R.E.M.E. belt and Certificate of Service.
