Albert John Behrens served as Lieutenant with 'C' Squadron, 11th Mounted Rifles and entered the war in German South West Africa. He is noted as transferring to the Supernumery list on 1 November 1916. Behrens listed his next of kin as Mrs E. F. Behrens, of 43 Long Market Street, Maritzburg; sold together with copied service papers.
