William Charles Hicks was born at Launceston, Cornwall on 5 October 1875 and enlisted with the Royal Navy on 13 November 1895. On the outbreak of the Great War he was serving with the destroyer Eclipse, later being posted to the obsolete sloop Rinaldo.

Ormonde Richard Marshall was a native of Peckham, London and enlisted with the Royal Artillery in 1914. He was discharged as a result of sickness in 1919.

Jack Dodd was born at Newton Abbot, Devon on 23 September 1900 and served ashore between 1918-1919. This medal comprises his full entitlement.

Ralph Pillinger was a native of Ebbw Vale and served with the 1st Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment during the Great War.
