India General Service 1895-1908, 1 clasp, Punjab Frontier 1897-98 (4196 Pte F. White. 1st Bn: Som: Lt Infy), very fine

Frederick White was born at North Brewham, Bruton, Somerset and attested into the Somerset Light Infantry on 20 August 1894 at Devonport, having previously been a labourer. White served in the East Indies from 11 September 1896 until 31 December 1901 when he returned home and was not to see service in South Africa. He was discharged at Portland on 17 April 1902 after being found medically unfit for further service.
