Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian die (Serjt L.J. Walden. 49th Regt), engraved naming, contact marks, very fine

Levi John Walden was born in Banbury, Oxfordshire and served in the Crimean War from 1854 to 1856. He was promoted Serjeant in 1860 and was discharged at Manchester in 1863; sold together with copied research. Walden is also entitled to the British Crimea War Medal with clasps for Alma, Inkermann, and Sebastopol.
