Daniel McDonald was born at Coleman, Alberta on 28 May 1890 and enlisted on 10 January 1918 at Calgary. Entering the war in France on 26 June 1918 with the 50th Battalion he transferred to the 31st Battalion on 14 August only to be wounded in action with them on 16 September 1918. Returning to Canada in March 1919 he was discharged on 30 March; sold together with copied service papers, original service tags and a 'For Service at the Front' badge.
