British War Medal 1914-20 (Bt. Maj. A. W. Pulverman. 128 - Prs.), light contact marks and polishing, otherwise very fine
Alfred William Pulverman was born on 1 November 1888. He joined the Unattached List as a Second Lieutenant on 9 September 1908 and joined the Indian Army on 11 December 1909, he was promoted to Lieutenant on 9 December 1910 and to Captain on 1 September 1915 (actg. Maj. 23 June 1918 to 17 June 1919). Serving as Assistant Director of Signals Mediterranean Expeditionary Force from 25 November 1914 - 24 January 1916, he is entitled to a British War and Victory Medal pair for serving with the 128th Pioneers, the medals of which were issued in India. He was promoted to Major (Brevet) on 1 January 1919, he is further entitled to a General Service Medal 1918-62 with clasp N.W. Persia as a result of being attached to the 48th Divisional Signal Corps. He served as D.A.A.G. India between 21 September 1928 - 16 July 1931 and was further promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on 3 June 1932. Pulverman died at Peshawar in 1938.
