Incoming Mail from USA
1929 (1 Mar.) envelope from Daytona, Florida to Penang and redirected to Germany, bearing US Air 10c. and Kedah 3c. with Straits 3c. and 5c., all cancelled by Dayton duplex, showing Atlanta - Miami special cachet in purple and framed "Non Reclaime/Not called for" h.s. in purple with, on reverse, Singapore (3.4) and Penang (25.4) datestamps. Most attractive and believed to be the only known example to Malaya. Photo

Note: On take off at Daytona Beach, pilot C.J. Faulkener encountered engine trouble and the plane crashed into the Halifax river. Mail was rescued and taken over by a reserve plane.
