From 25 October 1929 a direct air mail service was also made up for Basle, Switzerland, containing correspondence for Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy and Continental Europe generally. However, little use was made of this service resulting in very few covers being recorded.
1929 (27 July) envelope from Singapore to London and (1 Aug.) Field envelope from Kuala Lumpur to England, both franked at 26c. and showing "by air mail" etiquette, the latter also bearing GB ½d. applied and cancelled on arrival
