1925 (14 Mar.) envelope from Singapore to Michigan, marked "Via Airmail from San Francisco to Chicago", bearing Straits 12c. tied by Singapore double-ring d.s., showing "over - night/Air Mail (star) Service" h.s. in purple, and with US Air 24c. affixed and cancelled on arrival at Benton Harbor. Rare and most attractive, only four covers recorded. Photo

Note: From 1924 mail to USA, on arrival at San Francisco, could be carried by the internal airmail service to expedite delivery, by prepaying the American internal air mail fee in local stamps, or American airmail stamps. However, there were no arrangements between the postal authorities of Straits Settlements and the USA.
