1873 (12 Mar.) envelope from Rangoon to Calcutta bearing, on the reverse, ½a. horizontal pair cancelled by "rangoon/156" duplex c.d.s. with adjacent "steamer letter/calcutta" (24.3) d.s., the front with oval "rangoon delivery/3d" (14.6) c.d.s. in red (type DY2). Envelope faulty though a very rare handstamp, being the earliest recorded date and believed to be one of only three in red.
