(x) U.S.A.: Standard Rope and Twine Company, $100 shares, 189[6], #A1043, vignette of steamship, green and black. Incorporated in New Jersey in 1895 as a reorganisation of the United States Cordage Company which itself was a reorganisation of the National Cordage Company. Defaulted on its mortgage payments in 1904 so receivers were appointed in the following year. Forclosed and reorganised as the Standard Cordage Company with James B. Clews as chairman and Jules S. Bache as chairman of the bondholders committee. GVF.
