Brazil: Dumont Coffee Co. Ltd., a series of 3 different certificates for £10 preference shares, 18[96], #267, 190[9], #2892 and 191[1], #3382, red printing with scrollwork. In 1857 Henrique Dumont formed the largest coffee farm in Brazil, with 5.7 million plants and became known as one of the three 'Kings of Coffee' using modern engineering in his farming methods. His son Alberto Santos Dumont was famously involved in early aeronautical developments. Following a bad accident in 1890 leaving him hemiplegic he sold the company and it was bought in 1896 by this English company. VF (3).
