(x) Egypt/Ceylon/India: Oriental Hotels Company Limited, £10 share, 1863, #7495, black, embossed seal depicts elephant. Registered 1863 to build Hotels in India, China and elsewhere in the East. Built an hotel in Cairo in 1869. Built the Oriental Hotel at Point-de Galle, Ceylon. Wound up February 1870, the Cairo Hotel being sold to the Khedive of Egypt and the Ceylon Hotel offered for sale by the liquidator in the following year. Together with Agricultural Hotel Co. Ltd., 18[900], #322; Hans Crescent Hotel Co. Ltd., £3 3s 6d ordinary shares, 19[35] and other later certificates (4). Mixed condition. See images for more details (7).
