(x) Iraq, National Bank, 10 Dinars, 1947 (1955), serial number D798397, the National Bank of Iraq holds great significance as one of the first private banks to operate in Iraq following the Gulf War. The period during which this banknote was issued was a momentous chapter in the history not only of Iraq but also the broader Middle East region.
This striking purple banknote showcases an updated portrayal of King Faisal II on its front face, as an older youth the previous issues. On the reverse side, is the winged bull statue from the Palace of Khorsabad in Dur-Sharrukin, accompanied by an Assyrian priest, surrounded a beautiful symmetrical design
