Robert Lowther was born in Boroughbridge, Yorkshire and emigrated to Australia where he worked as a Horse Driver. Upon the outbreak of the Great War he enlisted with the Australian Imperial Force on 28 August 1914. Posted to the 3rd Battery, 1st Australian Field Artillery Brigade he joined the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on 4 April 1915. Transferring to France on 11 March 1916 he was killed in action on 22 July 1916: Lowther is buried at Flatiron Copse Cemetery, Mametz.
Hugh Sayer was born and enlisted at Herne Bay, Kent with the 7th Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). Entering the war in France on 28 July 1915 he was killed in action 3 September 1915 and was buried at Point 110 Old Military Cemetery, Fricourt.
William Thomas Yates served with the Canadian Railway Troops during the Great War.
Alfred Yates entered the war on 14 November 1914 and later transferred to the Guards Machine Gun Regiment, on 10 April 1918, with the new service number 3900.
