(x) British War Medal 1914-20 (John Trybest) good very fine

John Trybest was born at Sierra Leone in 1884 and served as a Krooman with the Mercantile Marine during the Great War. He was killed in action on 17 September 1940 whilst serving as a Fireman aboard the Merchant ship Tregenna (St. Ives) and is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial. He was the husband of Edith Pernelba Trybest, of Grange Town, Cardiff, who claimed his 1939-1945 Star, Atlantic Star and War Medal 1939-1945.
