(x) Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 3 clasps, Tel-el-Kebir, The Nile 1884-85, Suakin 1885 (75 Pte. G. Elder, 1/Cam'n: Highrs.), pitting, very fine

George Elder was born at North Inch, Perth in 1862 and was a bricklayer upon his joining the 1st Battalion, 8th (King's) Regiment of Foot in June 1881. He volunteered for the Cameron Highlanders in November 1881 and served with them during the Egypt and Sudan campaign (Medal & 3 clasps, Khedive's Star). He was posted to the Reserve in June 1887.
