Archibald Telford was born at Canongate, Edinburgh, and attested into the Seaforth Highlanders on 18 April 1885. He served in the East Indies from 13 December 1885- 27 March 1893 and then served in South Africa between 24 March 1900-10 April 1902. Served with the 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders throughout his service, all medals and clasps confirmed on roll. The King's South Africa roll notes "To England for discharge 9 March 1902". He then transfers to the Militia and is finally discharged 6 September 1907.
