John Anderson was born at Dundee and enlisted on the 16 July 1860. Serving first in the East Indies between 13 July 1861-17 June 1865 with further service in the Mediterranean between 18 September 1875-18 March 1880. He spent the remainder of his service at Home and was discharged on 24 October 1882.
