Alfred Henry Skiffins was born at Leytonstone, Essex on 14 February 1906, the son of Albert and Aimee Skiffins. He served with the 5th Indian Division Signals and was present at Tobruk with the rank of Company Sergeant Major when the city fell to the Germans in June 1942. He is listed as taken prisoner on 20 June 1942 and was sent to Stalag XI-B in Oerbke; sold together with copied P.O.W. lists.
