Arthur Brooksbank was born on 19 May 1831, the son of Reverend E. W. Brooksbank and Hannah Heywood. He became Captain in the 38th Regiment and later gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the Yorkshire Artillery. Brooksband died on 21 December 1903 at Middleton Hall, Driffield, Yorkshire.
