Naval General Service 1915-62, 1 clasp, Persian Gulf 1909-1914 (J.14009. J. W. Kettle. A.B. H.M.S. Swiftsure.), very fine

James William Kettle was born on 1 May 1894 at Minster, Kent and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on 19 September 1911. Going on to serve with Swiftsure from 26 March 1913-10 May 1916 followed by a brief spell at Pembroke I between 11 May 1916-18 October 1916 where he transferred to Sandhurst until 31 January 1919. Kettle completed his service on the 7 July 1922 reaching the rank of Petty Officer.
