Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque (Belcher Bayton) very fine

Belcher Bayton was born in 1896 and enlisted at Kingston-upon-Thames. He served in France from 24 July 1915 and was killed in action on the First Day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916, whilst serving with the 8th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment. He is buried at the Dive Copse British Cemetery, Sailly-Le-Sec and was the son of Harry and Mary Ann Bayton, of 25 Mill Place, Kingston-on-Thames, Surrey. His brothers Frederick and Harry also lost their lives during the Great War.
