Victory Medal 1914-19 (S-5225 Pte. J. Gordon. Sea. Highrs.), good very fine

John Gordon was born at Ormiston, Glasgow and enlisted at Denbeath, Fifeshire. He first served in France from 10 May 1915 and was killed in action on 25 September 1915, the first day of the Battle of Loos, whilst serving with the 7th Battalion. Gordon is commemorated on the Loos Memorial. He was the son of George and Jane Gordon, of 186 Denbeath, Methil, Fife.
