George Worthy enlisted at Darlington on 14 July 1915 and entered the war in France on 1 August 1915. His pension records note an injury to his knee caused by a kick from a mule in July 1915. Worthy is noted as serving attached to the Headquarters of 9th Brigade Royal Field Artillery, he was demobilised on 19 April 1919.
Sydney Wood was born at Lewis, Sussex and served with the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment before enlisting with the Royal Artillery on 7 July 1907. Seeing service in India, Burma and Aden prior to the Great War Wood is listed as stationed in India between 1913 and 1918. Notably however his service record states that he was in action at Aden on 12 November 1915, likely as part of the reinforcements sent to the province after the fall of Lahij. Transferred to the Army Reserve in 1919 Wood was demobilised on 5 July 1919; sold together with a copied service record entry.
George Henry Langford was born at Winchester in 1890 and enlisted with the Hampshire Regiment at Gosport on 21 January 1909. Postings in South Africa, Mauritius and India followed until December 1913 when Langford returned to Britain. The following year he was written up for the offence of 'washing a dog in the coy. bath house'. On the outbreak of the Great War Langford was posted to the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force and entered the war at Gallipoli on 25 May 1915. While here he suffered a Gunshot Wound to the fingers of his left hand sometime between 8-11 June 1915. With the evacuation of the Gallipoli front he was Langford was transferred to France where he suffered another gunshot wound, this time to left hand on 3 July 1916. This time the damage was too severe for him to remain with a frontline unit and he was posted back to Britain for service with 649 Agricultural Company, Labour Corps. He was finally demobilised on 18 April 1919.
