The Dr. Offer Collection of Jewish Coins | Kingdom of Judea, Mattithias Antigonus (40-37 BC) (2): i) AE Four Prutot, Cornucopia tied with ribbons rev. legend within wreath, 6.08g, (Hendin, 6198) slightly off-centre and softened to edges, nevertheless about good fine; ii) AE Prutot, "Mattitayah" (in retrograde paleo-Hebrew) within wreath rev. double cornucopiae splayed outward, adorned with ribbons, ear of barley between horns, 1.92g, (Hendin, 6199) light-brown patina, good fine to very fine, rare.

The Dr. Offer Collection of Jewish Coins, assembled by Dr. Daniel Offer (1929-2013) in Chicago in the 1980s. Originally catalogued in 1982 using Meshorer, Y. 'Jewish Coins of the Second Temple Period' Am Hassefer and Massada, Tel Aviv, (1967). Appraised at Sotheby's, April-May, 1999.
