No Stereo, 1842 from Masham via Bedale and London to Sidmouth uprated with 1841 1d. red-brown, tied by black Maltese Cross on re-direction to Exeter though under paid hence marked "More to Pay" on arrival and charged "2" on delivery, further strike of black Maltese Cross to envelope with Sidmouth d.s. and, on reverse, "masham/penny post", Bedale, London, Sidmouth and Exeter handstamps. An extraordinary usage being one of only two recorded examples of a 2d. Mulready and 1d. red-brown cancelled by Maltese Crosses. B.P.A. Certificate (2007). Photo.
