U.S.A: Davis Car Company, Washington, 6½% Mortgage bond for $50, 1923, #340, brown, with coupons. Incorporated in 1914 with offices in Seattle but they were not ready to produce their automobile until 1920 when the company took a large advertisement in the Seattle press holding a competition for a name (presumably because there was already a popular Davis which had been in the market for some years). The prize for the person suggesting the best name was a new car! The name settled on was the Totem and it went into production but only lasted until 1922 with some 60 cars built. GVF.
