India General Service 1895-1908, 2 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Tirah 1897-98 (26125 Corpl H. Hodgson R.E. Bl. S. & M.); suspension loose, light contact marks, very fine

Henry Thomas Hodgson was born at East Dulwich, London in 1864. Working as a Carpenter and Joiner as well as serving with 3rd Volunteer Battalion, Hampshire Regiment he enlisted with the Royal Engineers in 1891. Posted to India with the Bengal Sappers and Miners on 10 October 1895 Hodgson was appointed Lance-Corporal that same day. Promoted 2nd Corporal on 2 November and Corporal on 2 November 1896. Taking part in the Tirah Expedition during the troubled times on the North-West Frontier in 1897 Hodgson was unfortunate enough to contract pneumonia which eventually killed him on 24 December 1897.
