1887-1893 Copy letter from Lobengula to Chief Khama "I heard last year from the White people that you were talking about making a boundary line..." with Khama's copy reply; letter from Tati to Khama sending a letter from Lobengula regarding making laws for peace order and good government of the Tati District; letter from A. Sedgewick Wooley in Kanye (1887) about Jones who had been up in the Matabele and Mashona Country; and a Notice signed by Khama at Shoshong 7 March 1888 announcing "that the tract of country between the Shashi and Motloutse Rivers is debatable land and the subject of negotiation between Lobengula, Chief of the Matabele and myself...". A letter by E. Chapman to Khama dated 1 June 1888 advises "I am at present on my way to Lobengula's country with two waggons and some goods for him". A lengthy 15 sided letter signed by Khama to Rev. J. Moffat written from Shoshong refers to a "false word I sent you about the Chief of the Matabele Lobengula". Moffat writes on Matabeleland printed headed notepaper in 1893 about "irrepressible Matabele" (9)
