George I (1714-1727), 'Roses and Plumes' Sixpence, 1717, laureate and draped bust, rev. crowned cruciform shields, seven strings to harp, roses and plumes in angles, obliquely milled edge, 3.02g, 5h (Pywell-Phillips 280; Bull 1609; ESC 1597; Spink 3651), flan flaw through O of GEORGIVS and lightly wiped on obverse, otherwise bright and lustrous, the reverse with dappled toning, a really bold very fine, a very scarce date
