William III (1694-1702), 'Plumes' Sixpence, 1698, third bust right, rev. late harp, large crowns, four strings to harp, plumes in angles, obliquely milled edge, 3.02g, 7h (Bull 1244; ESC 1575; Spink 3546), lightly flecked, otherwise honestly and subtly toned and lustrous and quite brilliant, a wholesome example of this 'Welsh Silver' issue, a bolder extremely fine, rare, especially in this compelling state
