(x) Sri Lanka (Ceylon), Anonymous (c.960-1214), silver / base metal Pala (Quarter-Kahavanu) (3), standing figure holding a jasmine flower, 1.13, 0.99, 0.84g, respectively (type III (B), rev. legend a stylised form of Lakshmi in Devanagiri, a conch above with the tail pointing left (Codrington 62 for type; Mitchiner, Southern India, part 2, 314), these coins have been tested by the XRF method and are supplied with the results, the first two appear to be approximately 75% copper, 25% silver, the last is over 50% silver, it is likely they are contemporary forgeries and are interesting collectables as such, the first and last very fine, the second struck or cast using corroded dies, good very fine (3)
