Alfred Charles Looker was born at Croydon, London in 1898, the son of Edward and Mary Looker. Enlisting at Croydon with the Royal Fusiliers, he was posted to 17th (Empire) Battalion. Entering the war in France on 8 October 1917 he served with them during the Battle of Cambrai. Looker died of wounds on 28 March 1918 at Etaples Military Cemetery; sold together with an original photograph, slip of issue for the recipient's medals and dog tags as well as copied research including M.I.C. and a photograph of the recipient's gravestone.
