John Hopwood was born at Akham Rchard, York on 2 September 1882 and attested on 7 June 1916, being mobilised on 18 January 1917. Posted to 40 Reserve Battery, Hopwood entered the war on 11 November 1917 in Palestine; sold together with copied research including M.I.C., census data and service papers.
