Joseph Marshall was born was born at Walworth on 21 December 1884. Enlisting at Derby on 19 July 1917 with the 484 Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery entered the war in France on 18 January 1918. Returning to Britain on 13 January 1919 Marshall's record notes that he was 'presumed demobilised while on leave'; sold together with copied records including service records, M.I.C. and census data.
