Pair: Private J. W. Parker, 'B' Company, 11th (2nd Hull) Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment, who was killed in action tragically late in the war on 8 September 1918

James William Parker was born at Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire in January 1899, the son of William and Mary Parker of 39 Manchester Square, Barrow-on-Humber, Lincolnshire. His father served as a Police Officer and by 1911 had been promoted Sergeant in Ulceby, Lincolnshire, taking his family there they lived at the Police Station House in that village. Attesting at Lincoln on 27 April 1917 young Parker served with the 11th (2nd Hull) Battalion, also known as the 'Hull Tradesmen'. He was killed in action in the final months of the war on 8 September 1918, he is buried at Trois Arbes Cemetery, Steenwerck; sold together with copied research including Commonwealth War Graves details and M.I.C.
