1847 (20 Oct.) 2d. blue postal stationery envelope (size F) to York marked "1/- Register'd" in red ink and "Registered" again at foot, cancelled by "930" numeral of York with a superb strike of Derby despatch in the lower corner with York arrival for the same day on the reverse; the wax seal has been removed and the paper shows minor signs of ageing.
