USA: 1841 (23 Apr.), a94 two pence letter sheet, from Gatehouse to Orange County cancelled by two almost coincidental strikes of the black Maltese Cross, alongside faint strike of "boston ship" datestamp and in manuscript "paid 10" at lower left and "39½c" at upper right, the reverse with fine "gatehouse" framed despatch datestamp; some minor repairing and soiling, nevertheless very rare postal use.
