1718 (13 Sept.) entire, with contents, from the German General Von Leutrum "near the Norwegian border" to the Landgraf of Hessen-Kassel; seal removed from the reverse and the entire strengthened at left. A rare item from the Great Nordic War 1700-1720

Note;> The General, who served as a mercenary in the Swedish army, is giving a field report on the operations of his contingent to his Sovereign, the Landgraf of Hessen in Kassel. Three months later the Swedish King Carl XII was killed in action in Norway.
