(x) The Jean-Marie Vanmeerbeeck Collection of Numismatic Portraits from Medieval Flanders and Tudor England | Flanders, Louis II of Male, Count of Nevers and Rethel (1346-1384), ½-Golden Lion / Halve Gehelmde Gouden leeuw, 10 February - 12 April 1365, Gent, LV | DOVICVS : DEI : GRA : COM '° Z : DNS : FLANDR | IE, helmeted lion standing left in front of spired Gothic throne, FLANDRES in exergue, rev BENEDICTVS : QVI : VEHIT : IN : NOMINE : DOMINI, cross fleurée and feuillue, D' at centre, F L A N in angles, all within tressure of twenty arcs, 2.67g [41.2grns], 7h, m.m. cross pattée (Martiny, Gent, 39; Elsen 29; Delmonte 461; Gaillard 215), small scuff at 7 o'clock, otherwise bright and lustrous on a full round flan, handsomely struck up and uniform, a pleasing extremely fine, and of the highest rarity, with only 19,500 pieces originally struck
