Charles I (1625-1649), Civil War Issues, Royalist Bristol, 'Declaration' Shilling, 1644, crowned bust left, XII behind, rev. RELIG . PRO | LEG . ANG | LIB . PAR : in three lines, three even plumes above, 1644 in exergue below, stops beside date, 6.31g, 6h, p.m. plume/Br (Morr. B/1; Brooker 994 same dies; North 2496; Spink 3014), on an irregular flan, with peripheral striking weaknesses, toned, very fine and with traces of red wax in recesses from the 1920 Francis plate
