Infy), second clasp loose upon riband; India General Service 1895-1908, 2 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Tirah 1897-98 (Sur. Lt. Col: W. Barren. I.M.S.), good very fine (3)

W. A. Barren served in Medical Command of the 4th Bombay Infantry during the Afghan War and is further noted as having been present during the Siege and Battle of Kandahar (Medal). He thence served with the 25th Bombay Infantry during the Burma Operations (Medal & 2 clasps) and then took Medical Command of the 16th Bombay Infantry. He was appointed to the Medical Command of the Bombay Sappers & Miners in 1893 and saw his final operational service on the Punjab Frontier and in the Tirah (Medal & 2 clasps); sold together with riband bar for the first two Medals and four cloth items of rank insignia.
