U.S.A.: Barnes Automatic Car Coupler Company, $10 shares, Rochester 188[5], #356, signed by Lucien Barnes as President, vignette of two railroad cars using the coupling device, green and black, gold seal. Incorporated in New York, 19th September 1884. After several years of Barnes trying to sell his patent invention to railroad companies the stockholders finally agreed to dissolve the company in 1888. The patents were sold by the receiver to the Gould & Stimpson Iron Works of Buffalo for only $5,000. VF and scarce.
