Great Britain: Helsby Wireless Telegraph Company Limited, £1 shares, 19[10], #3, signed by Baden Baden-Powell as director, dark blue. The company acquired licence to install Marconi patent equipment on some ships of the London & North Western Railway Company. This led to some court action forcing the company to install the Cymophone portable telegraph apparatus instead. The Merchant Shipping Act in 1919 made it compulsory for apparatus and an operator to be onboard all vessels. Baden Baden-Powell, 1860-1937, military aviation pioneer, led the relief column to Mafeking where his brother, Robert Baden-Powell was in command. VF and rare.
