Great Britain: The Electrophone Limited, 10/- shares, 190[19], #152, scrollwork at left, blue. A pre radio system whereby subscribers could listed in to live musical and theatre performances using normal telephone apparatus in conjunction with the electrophone. The subscriber paid £5 per year and had the choice of some 30 performances every day. Queen Victoria and King Edward are said to have used the devices. The rise of radio broadcasting gradually put the company out of business. VF.
