Understood to have been presented to the 12 Sergeants of the 1st and 2nd Battalions, Coldstream Guards, who acted in the funeral. Their names were:

'1st Battalion. Sergeants J. Hitchen, E. Belcher, W. Sheldrake, J. Cartwright, J. Tucker, J. Buckman.

2nd Battalion. Sergeants S. Evison, E. Morgan, W. Adlam, W. Greengrass, T. Jarvis, R. Doggett.'
