1854 (4 May) mourning envelope from Melbourne to Yorkshire via Panama, marked "Per Golden Age", bearing Half-Length 1853 4th printing "white veils" 3d. deep blue pairs (2) with the left stamp of the left pair showing spectacular retouch completely obliterating the corner "e", all cancelled by Barred Oval "1", showing manuscript "2/-", "melbourne/victoria" oval d.s. below with London and arrival datestamps (18.5) on reverse; the right-hand pair with defect at upper right.
